A few weeks ago, I posted a blog about Breed Specific Legislation. Since then, my friends with the pitbull/german shepard mix have gotten another dog, a brindle colored American Pitbull Terrier. Her name is Arwen (from Lord of the Rings) and she's 4 months old. She loves to play and chase the other dog around the yard. My friends found her on Craigslist and rescued her from bad dog owners. She has abandonment issues from being locked up in the basement, so she will whine when you crate her or leave the house. She's just a puppy so they're still working on her house training, but she's improving each week. I have fallen in love with this dog. Don't get me wrong, I love their other dog Rowan; he's my buddy through and through. But I somehow seem to have a connection with this particular pitbull. She seems to favor me over most other people and always wants to sit right next to me on the couch (if not on top of me). I want to help her get over her abandonment fears and get her on the fast track to being a well-adjusted, well-behaved family member. I hope my friends can keep her for many years to come, and if they ever need to get rid of her, I'm just the man for the job. (smiley face)
